CHILDREN’S TUMOR FOUNDATION ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL FIRST RACE WITH C360R

Charity Builds on Successful Racing4Research Program at Miami-Homestead

(Homestead, FL) -- It's a magical moment when you see a child's eyes light up with excitement in a moment of wonder. It's even more special when that moment is shared with a child that is battling a serious illness. That moment is a brief respite from a world filled with doctors, tests, and the desire to just be a "normal kid."

At Homestead-Miami Speedway this past weekend, the Children's Tumor Foundation hosted a number of families with children living with neurofibromatosis (NF) as the latest of Racing4Research's fundraising efforts. It was the kick-off weekend of a full-season program with 2009 and 2010 Grand-Am champions Compass360 Racing, and by all accounts it was a tremendous success.

Honda CR-Z Hybrid Finishes Second at Thunderhill
(courtesy Honda Racing HPD)

A valiant, come-from-behind effort from Honda Performance Development (HPD) came up just short at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, as HPD's hybrid Honda CR-Z racer recovered from a near 10-lap deficit to finish second in the Endurance 3 class in the 2010 edition of the National Auto Sport Association's (NASA) season-ending event.

Driving the #19 CR-Z for the final three hours, Lawson Aschenbach (who, along with Compass360 Racing co-driver David Thilenius, claimed the Continental Tire Challenge Driver's Championship, and giving Honda its second straight Grand-Am Manufacturer's title) moved onto the lead lap during the final hour, and closed to within 1 minute, 10 seconds of the winning Mazdacage.net Mazda Miata at the checkers, the closest finish among the half-dozen classes competing in this year's 25 Hours. The two E3 competitors finished 8th and 9th overall in the 72-car field, ahead of many faster-category entries.

C360R at Canadian International Auto Show

Toronto, Canada—Compass360 Racing’s #74 car was proudly featured in the Honda booth at the Canadian International Auto Show this season. This event, which is the third-largest auto show in North America, runs for a week and a half in Toronto.

The team’s car, which was nicely presented between an IZOD IRL car and a newly-released Crosstour, proved to be a draw throughout the show. It was the second time in the past few years that a Compass360 Racing car has been invited to attend, with two of the team’s Acura TSX’s being part of the DarkNights display in 2007.
