Austin, TX -- Compass360 Racing and it's three full-season Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car drivers delivered a dominant performance at the series' season-opening round at the epic Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. At the helm of their new Honda Civic Si's, Ryan Winchester (#72 Ligon Industries/HPD), Brett Sandberg (#70 GearTie.com/HPD) and rookie Remo Ruscitti (#71 Ultimate Racing/HPD) were a force to be reckoned with.
Atlanta, GA -- Hopes were high as the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge made a debut run at the fabled Road Atlanta circuit this weekend for round four of the 2013 championship. Former champion Adam Burrows teamed with veteran racer Ray Mason for Compass360 Racing, as the duo looked to generate some positive momentum for their 2013 GRAND-AM campaign with a strong run in Saturday’s Price Waterhouse Cooper 250.
Questionable call by officials caps off a forgettable weekend for C360R in the deep south
(Birmingham, Alabama) -- Compass360 Racing's #75 Honda Civic Si headed into the third round of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge with a five-point lead in the Driver and Team's championship. Hot shoes Kyle Gimple and Ryan Eversley were optimistic of a good result despite the fact that the tight, twisting and traditionally low-grip circuit isn't an ideal track for the Hondas. By the end of the weekend, they'd dropped to second place, 12 points out of first, after being thrown curve balls by a combination of heavy weather during the test and practice days, and new interpretations of long-standing rules from the tower. And of the three C360R cars in attendance, they fared best of all.
Team's Four-car Honda effort delivers at grand Circuit of the Americas track
(Austin, TX) -- Taking to the track at 10:00am on Saturday, March 3rd, competitors in Grand-Am's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge became the first pro series to race at Austin's Circuit of the Americas since its debut on the Formula One calendar in the fall of 2012.
The COTA weekend kicked off with a promoter test day, which saw Burrows and Mason working together to unlock the keys to speed within the 20 corners that make up the highly technical Formula 1-grade facility. The C360R squad saw all four team entries posting practice times within a quarter of a second of each other, showing the strength and consistency of the Toronto-based team’s preparation.
As you may have seen during the SPEED broadcast of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season opener at Daytona last weekend, long-time C360R driver David Thilenius was involved in a nasty shunt after the infield kink during the race. Dave was taken to hospital and was released a few days later with six broken ribs and has now returned home to California where he's recovering well. As soon as he's able he plans to resume his physical training and hopes to be back in a car in April.
What an amazing place Daytona is. It’s huge! Rumor has it that when the NASCAR races happen here, Daytona becomes the 8th largest city in Florida. 500,000 people can pack into here but for us, we’re lucky to have 10% of that. Not a bad number though. In some places, racing draws friends family and the strange bloke walking his dog and so even the smaller number of people is always amazing to see.

Success! I ended up crossing the line in third after a big battle with a Nissan and a BMW. Starting off the season with a podium is not bad and really good for the championship for Kyle Gimple and I.
