Compass360 Racing's new 2012 Honda Civic Si's fared reasonably well at the season-opening Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Daytona International Speedway, with the top-finishing Honda the #75 of Ray Mason and Ryan Eversley leading the team's charge and crossing the line in 12th spot, narrowly ahead of team-mates John Kuitwaard and David Thilenius' #76 in 13th, Andrew Novich and Adam Burrows' #74 in 14th and Bo Roach and Trevor Hopwood's #77 in 17th.
"At least the cars all finished together and we scored some points," noted Team Principal Karl Thomson. "We'll be working with Grand-Am to get the Hondas back into the top ten for the next race."

Monterey, CA -- Last Sunday Lawson Aschenbach drove the race of his life at the famed Laguna Seca road course, nestled among the sand dunes of the beautiful northern California coast. Starting from the back of the pack, and with no practice time, Aschenbach made a perfect standing start in his #71 Honda Performance Development Civic Si, and quickly dispatched competitor after competitor, making his way into the top three in only a few laps.

EVERSLEY BRINGS C360R HOME SECOND IN GRAND-AM CHAMPIONSHIP

Hard-fought battle with Kia factory team goes down to the wire at Mid-Ohio
(Lexington, OH) -- Ryan Eversley always knew it would be an uphill battle to help bring Compass360 Racing (C360R) a third straight Grand-Am championship, but the affable Georgian put up a valiant fight all season long, right down until the final laps of the Continental Tires Sports Car Championship season finale at the Mid-Ohio sports car course. Entering the race just three points behind series' leader Nic Jonsson in his #10 Kia Forte Koup and a mere six points ahead of Sarah Cattaneo and Owen Trinkler in their #198 Mini Cooper S, the fierce fight at the front of the Street Tuner class came down to a showdown in Ohio.

C360R RETAINS WORLD CHALLENGE LEAD AT INFINEON

Lawson Aschenbach battle strong opposition from the K-PAX Volvos and Volkswagen Golfs, not to mention his three team-mates, and manged to retain his World Challenge Touring Car lead after the double-header weekend at Infineon / Sears Point in northern California this weekend. Aschenbach managed a great start in the first race on Saturday, fending off his rivals for the win in TC in his #71 Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si. On Sunday, however, his Honda Civic Si proved no match for the forced induction cars and he was over-powered. The 50-minute race proved challenging, though, and he battled back to a strong second position behind championship rival Aaron Povoledo in his Volvo C30.
Team-mate Ray Mason had a strong Rookie weekend, coming home 5th in race one and 4th in race two in the Columbus Truck #74 Honda. Tom Ehlen placed a solid sixth and fifth, respectively, in the #72 Speed Secrets car, while Brett Sandberg suffered contact in both races, belying his strong form in qualifying.

C360R LAGUNA SECA RACE REPORT: EVERSLEY AND PAGENAUD FINISH SIXTH

Duo bring home the top-finishing Honda keeping team's championship hopes alive
(Monterey, CA) -- Ryan Eversley and co-driver Simon Pagenaud knew they faced an uphill battle at Laguna Seca, despite the recent removal of a series-mandated inlet restrictor. "Laguna's a track that favours the rear-wheel-drive cars, and even with the restrictor gone, the Honda is still far from the fastest front-wheel-drive platform as the results show," explained Eversley.

POST-ROAD AMERICA RAMBLINGS

I didn't even bother writing a press release. Our series' first race at Road America, a track I've longed to compete at, was a disaster. Not just for us -- although going from a five point championship lead in the Street Tuner class to a 15-point deficit is pretty bad -- but for everyone. It was a rubbish race. Unless, of course, you're into huge accidents and legions of torn-up cars. In that case, it was a massive success. I'll not be surprised it garners the best TV ratings of the season thus far...

EVERSLEY TAKES CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD AT WATKINS GLEN

Ryan Eversley and Keith Carroll brought their Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si home in fifth place at Watkins Glen, after the two leading iMoto MazdaSpeed3's suffered mechanical issues and rules infractions in the closing stages of the race. The result puts Eversley atop the Grand-Am Street Tuner standings but a small margin of five points.
"At Lime Rock the top two guys took each other out, handing us third, and to have it happen again at the next race is just bizarre," noted Eversley. But whatever, we'll take the lead however we can get it. It's been an uphill battle against the regulations so this fifth place is like a win for Keith and me."

(Lakeville, CT) -- After an unexpected but not unwelcome win in the last Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge event at Virginia International Raceway, Compass360 Racing (C360R) brought together one of their strongest line-ups of the season in the hopes of further podium results at Lime Rock Park.
